Job Description

Job Title:                  Maintenance Worker

Department:              Maintenance

Reports to:                 Maintenance Manager

Location:                    Adirondack Bat Manufacturing Plant  Dolgeville, NY

FLSA Status:             Hourly

 General Overview:  Responsible for performing routine grounds maintenance and work on interior and exterior machines, under limited supervision. 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine manual work in repair, maintenance or cleaning activities.  The work requires physical endurance and willingness to perform routine and often strenuous tasks under various work conditions.
  • Maintain a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
  • Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations.  Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building
  • Operating equipment (such as forklifts, man lifts, plow trucks, etc.) in compliance with all safety and security industry standards.
  • Perform, Set and Adjust the mechanics on several machines using mathematical problem solutions (Will Provide On-the-Job Training)
  • Comply with all safety, quality, job knowledge, attendance, and 6S requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

  • Must have two or more years of hands-on experience working in a maintenance department.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to program the mechanics on several machines.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate with many different individuals regarding numerous tasks.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Previous Machine Adjuster/Setter, Electronic and/or CNC experiences, a plus.

 Working Conditions:  General maintenance working environment, exposure to inside and outside extreme temperatures.

 

Safety Hazards:  Exposure to dust, air borne fibers, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, solvents, machine parts and vibrations.  Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves, smocks, and positive pressure full-face hoods are required while performing certain tasks.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate clearly, both written and in speech. 

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate simple and sometimes complex mathematical problems and solutions. 

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
